Frequently Asked Questions

  • How old you have to be to get a tattoo in Georgia?

You must be at least 18 years old and have a government issued I.D.

Some piercing can be done at the age of 16 with parental consent. Give us a call at (706)945-1810 to find out what documentation is needed!

  • Can you price a tattoo for me over the phone?

Unfortunately, we can't. In order to get a tattoo priced accurately, we need you to come by the shop. There are various factors that determine the cost of a tattoo including size, placement, and artist best suited for the job. In order to determine those factors it's best to come by the shop so we can begin the planning process and ensure you get the perfect tattoo.

  • Is there a minimum price on tattoos at Allegiance Ink?

Yes, the minimum price is $80.

  • My friend does tattoos at his house. Why shouldn't I just go to him?

Allegiance Ink provides a safe, sterile, and professional atmosphere to be tattooed in. We work closely with the Health Department to raise the bar in all aspects of the tattoo industry. Our sterilization procedures are that of a modern doctors office or dental office. And don't forget, getting tattooed outside of a licensed shop is ILLEGAL in Georgia. No one tattooing out of their home is licensed and likely doesn't have access to the proper sterilization equipment. You're not just breaking the law, you're putting your health at risk!

  • Do I have to have an appointment to get a tattoo?

We take walk-ins every day that we're open! That being said, we recommend you make an appointment if there is a certain time, day, or artist that you would like to get tattooed by. For large scale work that will require drawing, we will normally schedule you an appointment so as to not rush the drawing.

  • How do I make an appointment?

To make an appointment, simply come by the shop. Be sure to bring your ideas, references, and an open mind! We will pair you with the best artist for the job. You'll then fill out a deposit form and schedule your appointment. Deposits are $60 and they guarantee both yours and the artist's time. The deposit comes off of the tattoo on the final sitting. Although the deposit is non-refundable, the appointment can be rescheduled given at least 24 hours notice.

  • How long does it take for my tattoo to heal?

The average tattoo takes about 2-3 weeks to fully heal.

  • Will my tattoo hurt?

Tattoos will vary in pain depending on placement. You must also factor in your sensitivity to pain. If it's your first time, don't panic. The majority of the time we hear, "That didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would."

  • Is it OK to get tattooed when I'm sick?

NO. Getting tattooed when you're sick is not a good idea. Your immune system is already weakened so healing the tattoo will take longer and it increases the risk of infection.

  • Should I take anything for pain prior to getting tattooed?

No. Taking something before getting tattooed can thin your blood, change your body's reaction, and cause a variety of issues during the process.

  • Should I eat or drink anything before getting tattooed?

Eating a good meal along with a non-alcoholic beverage is a great idea and suggested prior to getting a tattoo or piercing.
